My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice.
But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life.
In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.
I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.
我的家乡
我的家乡是个美丽的地方，它座落在一条宽宽的小河旁边，富产鱼和大米。
但是在过去它是个又穷又偏僻的小镇。很多人没有工作，生活很难过。
1949年解放以来，我的家乡发生了很大的变化。道路拓宽了，工厂、学校、医院、电影院和歌剧院一个接一个建成。人们生活质量大大地提高了。
我爱我的家乡，更爱家乡的人们。他们辛勤工作保持着它的富有、美丽。

In the east of China, there is a small city---Haimen. I was born there. Today, I am telling you about my hometown. Haimen is not far from Shanghai. It’s at the mouth of the Changjiang River. Haimen is a modern city. There are lots of high buildings in it. Most of us live in flats. We like to live in flats because we can be close to our friends. In the center of Haimen, there are many shops. You can buy some nice things here. Things in most shops aren’t expensive. You can pay a little money and they are yours. My hometown is a beautiful city. On each of the roads, there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also very clean. They make people happy and comfortable. The seasons here are very nice. I like autumn best. It’s neither hot nor cold. A poem says “Flyer of summer come to my window to sing, then fly away. And yellow leaves of autumn, which have no songs, just fall there with a sign.” It’s very love Haimen. It’s a nice place to live. Welcome to my hometown.

Today, my friends and I decided to take a visit to an old town which was near our city. We had heard of it for a long time, but we never had the chance to go there. A week ago, I happened to read an article about the old town. I was so curious and wanted to see it. It took us two hours to reach there. The town was separated from the city by the mountains. It was so quiet and the trees were green. I was very impressed by the clean river, which showed the town was unpolluted. The house was old style but I liked it a lot, and all the things here were so beautiful.
今天，我和朋友们决定去参观我们市附近的一个古老的小镇。我们一直都有听说过这个小镇，但我们从来没有机会去过。一个星期前，我偶然读到一篇关于老镇的文章，我很好奇，想去看看它。我们花了两个小时到达那里。群山把城市和小镇隔开了，很安静，树也是绿绿的。那里干净的'河给我留下了非常深刻的印象，这说明了小镇没有受到污染。房子是旧式风格，但是我喜欢，所有的东西都是如此的美丽。

In China, young people are crazy about the Christmas festival. They treat it as the big day and prepare for it ahead. Some people think it is the bad situation for the young people to be fascinated by western festival. In my opinion, the meaning of the festival can educate people to be a better person. Christmas Day can provide people the chance to stay together and Thanksgiving Day teaches them to be grateful all the time. So we can share the spirit of festivals.
